Justin Avenue Glenroy is the inaugural development of Hamlet Housing, a series of people-centric boutique urban developments meticulously created by Excelon Projects in the inner and middle North of Metropolitan Melbourne.
Through a collaboration with Atlas Architects and Arcadia Sustainable Design, Justin Avenue is underpinned by a desire to create beautiful, practical homes that nurture meaningful connection between neighbours and nature, all while maintaining affordability.
A collection of only four homes surrounding a central garden, Justin Avenue strives to deviate from the prevalent layout of suburban housing developments that are often dominated by internal garages and concrete driveways.
Inspired by alternative housing models developed by architects such as Graeme Gunn and Walter Burley Griffin, car bays at Justin Avenue are located at the periphery of the site, creating a landscaped communal garden which encourages incidental encounters between residents and fosters a sense of community and belonging.

Excelon Projects
Melbourne-based property developer Excelon Projects was established in 2011 to create unique residential projects purpose-designed to match specific lifestyles.
This includes the Lothian Street townhouse development in North Melbourne, which won the Australian Institute of Architect’s 2021 Frederick Romberg Award.

Arcadia Sustainable Design
Arcadia is a professional horticultural consultancy specialising in sustainable landscape design. Gary Shadforth, the owner and principal designer has a strong and varied background in horticulture, design and education, which he brings to each project
